FEATURE PRESENTATION

"2 Tone" refers to a British music movement from the late 1970s, primarily based in Coventry, that blended Jamaican ska, reggae with elements of British punk and new wave, characterized by a strong political message against racism and social inequality, and most notably associated with bands like The Specials, The Selecter, and The Beat, all signed to the 2 Tone Records label founded by Jerry Dammers of The Specials.

The name "2 Tone" reflects the movement's intention to transcend racial barriers through music, often featuring mixed-race bands and a distinctive black and white checkerboard visual aesthetic.
